Grammys

-Lady Gaga looks like a green heart
-Whoohoo Green Day!!!!
- Ahh, I remember that Alanis Morsett song. I remember teachers freaking out when third graders were singing the explicit version.
-you've got to admire that Pink was able to do all that spinning and still walk in those heels w/o falling over. I liked the song, but not sure the "dance" went with it.
-Ting Tings were robbed :(
- What's with all the futuristic military types from an 80's movie?
- Weird Al was robbed by a Christmas album!!!
- Wow, they start playing the "get off the stage" music very early don't they?
- Win for Green Day!!!
- Stevie Nicks!!!! (who else could make a tambourine so goth?)
- oh, now I'm flipping back and forth with Worst Cooks. And reading for class.
- . . . eh, I haven't finished anything but I think it's better to wind down and get to bed at a bit earlier.

1st day back

No reading assignment due today but tons due tomorrow (long story on why couldn't do reading until today - will share later)

Anyway, I survived. Technically I could drop a class but I seem to need all but two for the Bar. I don't want to drop mediation b/c I'm really interested in it and since most cases don't go to court, it seems a good idea to have some basic understanding. Environmental law isn't Bar, but it's one of those things that I think will be very useful in the future. 15 credit hours, 6 classes

*sigh* I'll try to detail later.

Whine

Can't focus. Freaking out in general (though nothing really to freak out about yet).

Keep asking myself where break went and why didn't I get anything accomplished?

AHHHHHH!!!!

On a side note: How many "Bring It On" movies can you make before you realize it's dead? And why do the outfits keep getting uglier?

uggggg?

Finally got up before the sun. It's totally overrated. It's cold, dark, and rainy. Good time to sleep in. Also, nothing even remotely decent comes on t.v. before 10 pm. So what's the point of the morning?

I went decaf over break but tomorrow I think I'm starting back.

Book issues continue. One book I knew would be late, another I lost the notification that it wouldn't ship in the whole mess of e-mails and didn't realize until now that it wasn't coming. It's ordered and I'm shelling out for the faster shipping. Both should be here at the end of the week. I just HATE buying at the book store.

Trying to keep up planning my weekly menus this semester. It would be much easier to bring lunh if there was a sink in the "Cafe." I mean so many things you add water and now more and more you cook and drain.

Forage, laundry, try to work, organize bags, and I guess just brace my self for the horrors.

tweet?

Been thinking: To start tweeting or not to start tweeting?

infomercials

I was so proud of myself. I was in bed and asleep by 9:30. Then I woke up around 12:30 and didn't sleep until 4-5ish. So ended up oversleeping yet again. Two infomercials that got me last night. The crack it and various juicers. The crack it cracks open eggs. I don't get it. It does look kinda neat cracking them open but I don't see the point. Another thing that takes up valuable kitchen space and another thing to wash. Why can't you just crack the egg open and be done? I don't get why I'm supposed to be impressed by being able to put a whole orange or a piece of pinapple with the rind still on in the juicer. Have you ever gotten a bit of the orange pith in your mouth? Ewww! Now imagine that in liquid form. And why do you want to drink pineapple rind? Maybe I'm missing something, but I think it's gross.

Realyy!?!?!

So, one of the late books, I read on the syllabus for that class that we were supposed to get it from the book store. I had already ordered it when the syllabus was put out I think, but anyway. Going to try to use the Library's copy. After I eat late lunch. Then I have three classes Monday and zero of the sylubi for them. It annoys me because we're expected to be so perfect and have things done in advance but then stuff like this is pulled. It's stressful. I actually broke down and e-mailed profs about not having a syllabus for their class. I don't think I should have to do that, but I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they thought it was up but it wasn't? They did "upgrade" the program thingy where this stuff is usually posted. First weeks are always awful, but this first week I'm working without books and assignments on top of the usualy stress. Watch me get called on in every class.

fb status

Sometimes people have good fb statuses. (Not mine, but still good.)

"I did the Macarena with a banana in line at the bank because Big Bird said to and he's my leader."

Venting

Trying to get into a decent sleep schedule. Was planning on a nice mini-pedi and a bit of t.v. and crashing. Was VERY vocal to this person about my plans. They knew what I was going to watch and when it came on. So, they call 10 minutes before the program comes on, right when I was starting to set things up. Yes I needed a favor. But it wasn't something that was urgent and I know very well that the person had known about the request for a few hours before calling. It's frustrating because it's so close to the time I had set aside for RELAXING and it's something that is NOT relaxing (quite the opposite) because it involves me trying to talk someone through something that I'm not clear on myself but could do if I was in front of the computer. I know this makes no sense but it's a venting. It somehow helps me calm down a bit so maybe I'll be able to sleep. *scream*

Best Laid Plans and All That

Productivity for today: planned but not happening. Blah. Stupid messed-up sleep schedule is really a pain to try to fix.

found

Found the cords. Sure they were in a very obvious spot. If they weren't I would have found them!

Saw The Box. Interesting. I love the Dollar Theater! Not as nice at the other theater but compare $1 to $9 dollars. I haven't decided how to treat myself for surviving the first week back but maybe I'll go see Sherlock Holmes.

It was warm today. It was warmer outside when I went in than it was in the theater. It's nice to feel extremities now and then.

Still trying to find a spot of floor somewhere. I really need to focus on cleaning but there are so many things that are more fun.

All for now.

Forgetfulness, sharing, wonderings

I can't find various cords/battery chargers! Camera and MP3 player the most pressing of those MIA. Did I leave them home? Did I bring them back and they're hiding under the tons of stuff that should be put away by now?

In an attempt to make more room in my closet for things I need to hang up, I've bought a giant storage tub to put things I don't wear in and try to wedge out in the storage thingy (if it fits!). Problem? I have to make room to bring it up so I can make room. Cycle much?

Not as productive as I wanted to be today, but did do a bit. It's hard getting back into the whole awake during the day, sleep at night thing when you can't sleep at night and the really good quality sleep kicks in around 6am.

If it weren't for this one class during the week, I could sleep in a whole hour later this semester. I'm afraid to sleep in on all but that day. I want to keep a semi-regular schedule and know that I would probably forget to change the alarm for that day or I would forget what day it was and just go back to sleep.

So the other day I took a quick peek to see if anyone had left any comments. I know one person reads the blog now and then, but I wonder, is anyone else actually reading this thing? Just a random thought.

Off to force myself to clean for a bit. I think I need like a zillion square feet of storage and a couple of professional organizers. Oh, and a closet with one of those clothes racks/lines that move your closet. Make that a couple of those too.

Bit about Break

I did NOTHING during break and it was FANTASTIC!!

It was the first time my parents let me drive myself home from school. Might have something to do with this is my first break with my gos (Aka Toy [yes it is a WOT reference])and I have no directional sense whatsoever. I was in bad shape when I got there. It's a good thing I left when I did though. The next day was the big snow. If my parents had come to get me they would have been stuck here and if I had waited, I would have been grounded until the roads cleared. So good timing for me.

I saw the stars while I was home.
One night after it snowed, I saw a deer walking across the front yard and into the woods.

I like Chile's. Good ribs. Went there twice during break. The first time they had the 2 for $20 thing. It was SO good. I got the cheesesteak and asked for fried jalapeno strips instead of mushrooms. They brought a whole tray of sliced and fried jalapenos!!!! So good. The second time, they didn't have the 2 for $20. I think it's back now but they stopped doing it for the holiday rush. Stupid. Anyway, I got the chicken and shrimp tacos. Bland as all get out. It was not a good meal.
We were going to try to Indian place. It's in a hotel. They have lunch off the menu and a buffet. We went in and just stood there. There were maybe 4-5 customers but no one to seat us, take an order, get drinks, make sure we didn't grab a tray and run. No one. After a while we just left and went to Chile's. For a rather icky lunch. The Indian place smelled really good though.

I got a snuggie. I like it. Xena liked it too. She tried to steal it. Even when I put it up on the back of the couch, she pulled it down and nested on it.

I missed speedy Internet. A good day home is like 49 kbps. *shudder*

Oh, and music!!! With the slow speed, not much can do online. Actual radio, especially at the house is limited to WESR. Their philosophy is that you can't make everyone happy so let's make everyone miserable. I about plotzed when I finally got WNRN to come in.

I eventually got my books ordered. Have to pay normal shipping to be sure they're here in time.

Still waiting for two more grades.

There are more t.v. channels at home and you know what? Still nothing good on. Nothing.

Before going home I got bad about diet and exercise. Then at home I went along with Mom's plans to squeeze in every meal, snack, and nibble that she didn't fix for me during the school year. I'm going to work on that this semester. Today I finally got a scale.

Pandora's Music today:
Blue Caravan by Vienna Teng
When in Doubt by Thousand Foot Krutch

how to make "diet" hot chocolate

Get the 25 calorie hot cocoa mix.

Put whole milk in a mug.
Put a good big squeeze of Hershey's syrup in there.
Nuke it.
Add the diet cocoa mix.

Enjoy.
